New House Progress

The ceramic tiles and linoleum appear to be finished, along with the hardwood flooring in the entry. The air conditioner has been installed, and one of the two garage door openers is in place. Some new pictures have been added to the photo gallery.

New House Progress

The ceramic tiles for the countertops are in place, the railing for the stairway has been started, and the garage door openers have probably been installed by now.

Windows ate itself yesterday...

I reinstalled Windows XP after a trip to the storage unit to dig through boxes to find an installation CD. I'll be reinstalling software for a long time, partly because I don't know where all of the CDs are.

New House Progress

Bathroom and kitchen cabinets were being installed today and the windows were being covered on the outside, apparently in preparation for painting.

New House Progress

The interior painting and "floor underlayment" (a layer of particle board on top of the first layer of flooring) are done. The interior doors and molding are in the garage, waiting to be installed.

Finally -- Construction Has Resumed!!!

After a great deal of time spent drying the interior of the house with the furnace and finally adding dehumidifiers, the moisture content of the wood was brought below 16% and all mold growth that could be found was removed. The house was then inspected by an industrial hygienist to make sure it was OK.

Sheet rock installation began today!!!
